FAQ's
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a replacement for my Agency Management System or Underwriting System? Do we have to change our current system? What does it do that my current systems are not doing?
The beauty of Blackshield is that it is self sufficient or can work WITH your current systems. Blackshield is API friendly, so it is quite proficient in sending and receiving information. Most users utilize it for Underwriting and Program management. However It can also be a powerful tool in managing the day to day work involved with any schedule of exposures as well.
Can we use Blackshield to run analytics and benchmark across multiple insurance programs? Can it prepare benchmarking for sales presentations or market an entire book of business to the insurance marketplace?
The great thing about this platform is that the access point to the platform may be customized (or private labeled) for your organization and your clients. Do you want to benchmark pricing across trucking or multiple real estate or apartment portfolios... across multiple offices? Do you want to compare deductibles and pricing across thousands of restaurant locations? Do you want to combine data across multiple platforms to leverage the values of a book of business? Blackshield will allow you to do that. Blackshield's ability to analyze risk is virtually unlimited. Lastly, custom charts, graphs and details can be created to utilize for presentations.
Can anyone access my schedule? How do you control who has the authority to make changes?
Every user has their own unique identifier and granted a specific Permission Level. Every action of every user is documented. Moreover, every user in your system is granted a certain "permission level" or a level of authority. So, unauthorized individuals cannot make changes unless they have been granted the authority by the Master User.
Can this platform issue certificates?
Yes. The platform can be used to maintain certificate files as well as issue certs. It can provide API feeds to and from your existing Agency Management System if desired. However the main benefit is managing the day to day changes in the actual exposure schedule along with he changes in associated premium and risk.
Does this platform collect all necessary underwriting data?
Yes. This includes primary and secondary underwriting characteristics as well as supplemental underwriting documents. Inspection reports and Loss runs may be uploaded and attached to each specific risk. So, the entire underwriting file may be viewable with one click! It can also share the documents with your agency management system.
